In the course of the game, players explore successive lands (moving between locations on a simplified terrain scheme) and epochs (prehistory, early Middle Ages, Middle Ages, present, apocalypse, future and the end of time), hold dialogues with neutral characters and perform tasks for them, as well as duel with enemies. the action was shown from a camera suspended over Crono's head. It is worth noting that the story told in the game has a non-linear character and can end in several ways depending on our actions.
